Accredited Remedial Massage Therapist

Why did I become a remedial massage therapist?

Before I got interested in becoming a massage therapist, I quite liked my job throughout my career in tourism, but at the same time I would always like to challenge myself with something new. As I was aware that I have wanted to get involved in sports as a profession rather than sitting down in front of a computer all day, I eventually decided to give up the job and committed myself to study diploma of remedial massage, which I thought I could be a good help with my own experience as a distance runner. I would love to pass my skills and knowledge on to other like-minded people to help achieve their goals. Now I am so excited to become a part of the POGO Physio team to work as their first-ever remedial massage therapist!

About Sato:

I was born and grew up in a city called Kawaguchi, which is about 20km north of Tokyo CBD. At the age of 27, I made up my mind to have a 12-month-working-holiday break in Australia from the super hectic life in Japan.

Having spent an unforgettable time and had a fantastic experience for a year in Australia, I have got an opportunity to work for a tour company as an interpreter here on the Gold Coast, although I was going to go back to Japan. Ever since I have worked for a few different companies and fortunately got a chance to become a permanent resident of Australia in 2010. I can’t believe it has been 12 years now since I first landed in this country! Australia still amazes me every single day!

Passion:

My biggest passion is for running. I started running because I wanted to improve my health in the first place when I turned 30, although I had never ever thought before that I was going to love105 running up until I started it. Now I can say running is definitely a big part of my life and something I am passionate about.
