Peita is originally a Sydneysider and moved to the Tweed Valley in 2017 with her family to fulfil their dream of living on acreage. Her career background was in the tourism and hospitality industries before discovering her passion for health and fitness. She is currently completing her PhD thesis at Southern Cross University on the role of running and triathlon events in positive lifestyle transformation amongst adults who were previously physically inactive. This is a topic close to Peita’s heart as she started to exercise only ten years ago once her youngest child turned two.
Peita quickly found a love for running and progressed from running 5km’s through to now having run three world major marathons (New York City, Chicago, Berlin), multiple half marathons and sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. Peita is a Level One Run Leader with Athletics Australia and enjoys coaching learn to run groups on her spare time. Peita loves attending parkrun with her family including Ruby the Kelpie and is training for her first 50km ultramarathon.
