Why did you become a physio?
I became fascinated by the body and how it works after seeing a Physio for the first time for an injury he got playing AFL in high school. My interest in Yoga, Meditation and the movement practice of Ido Portal opened my awareness to the enormous potential each person has to move and feel their physical best. Helping people to overcome their injuries, get stronger, more mobile and readier for whatever their life requires is my passion.
After finishing High School in Darwin Oliver went to live and teach English in a Tibetan Buddist Monastery in Northern India for 5 months. After being immersed in Tibetan and Indian culture Oliver became interested in various styles of Yoga and Meditation practice – immersing and practicing as much as he could. He returned to Australia to study economics at Melbourne University, but enjoyed studying yoga and the human body so much he had to shift degrees, and study physiotherapy at James Cook University in Townsville. In Townsville he taught yoga and movement classes as he completed his studies – and is still teaching on the Gold Coast.
Learning constantly and Mindful living.
My favourite food is tahini – I put it on nearly everything.
