Why did you become a physio?
The human body is fascinating! Sports and health sciences have always been of interest to me. Whilst playing first grade rugby union in Northern NSW, I suffered a string of injuries including an ankle fracture, an AC sprain (shoulder) and an ACL rupture (knee) which needed surgery. Working closely with my physiotherapist during the rehabilitation inspired me to learn the trade and help others.
James grew up in Ballina, Northern NSW. After school he went on to work as a cabinet making apprentice. Realising his passion laid elsewhere, he packed up and headed to the Gold Coast where he completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science & Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University.
James has a keen interest in combat sports (MMA / boxing / BJJ), resistance training, running as well as rugby league and union. As a student he spent several seasons working as a sports trainer with the Palm Beach Currumbin Lions in the QAFL competition.
Good food, travel, photography – especially when you do all 3 at once!
In 2017 I was a contestant on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”
