Tom Evans, a former British Army Captain, made an incredible debut on the Ultra Trail Running scene when he came 3rd in 2017 in the gruelling 251km Desert Ultra Marathon: des Sables. There’s a great story behind this elite performance and debut which includes a bet with some of his former military mates in a pub. This third place finish was the best result of any European in the history of the Iconic Race.

Tom made his debut in his first 100mile race in the other iconic event, The Western States in 2019. Tom picked up a podium spot coming home with a bronze medal to join his bronze medal from representing Great Britain in the World Ultra Trail running championships.

During this episode Tom shares his highs, lows and learning from his remarkable career and there are so many learnings. There’s some great tales including training with former featured performer of this show Zane Robertson whilst in Ethiopia as well as his big 6 hour run in Ethiopia plus so much more.
