First time Kokoda Challenge advice

Emily: Hey guys, Emily from POGO Physio here sitting here with our practice manager, Libby Maxwell.  What some of you might not know is Libby is a really good runner, she had done a Kokoda Challenge in the past and this year, tomorrow, the Kokoda challenge is tomorrow she is support crew for team Kondev.  So I just wanted to take a moment to sit back and have a quick chat with Lib and ask her what her advice is for a first time Kokoda Challenge participant.  So Lib, what do you reckon?

Libby: I think first and foremost if you’re tackling Kokoda Challenge, good on you, fantastic achievement already just to get to the start line, but I think the most important thing to remember is have fun.  This is something that’s going to be such a major part of your life that you’ll remember forever so remember to have fun.  The biggest advice I can give anyone that’s worried about going into it is just making sure to get your nutrition right and you should be fine.  Rely on your support crew for help with nutrition, that’s what they’re there for.  When you come into check points get them to do everything for you so you don’t have to worry about a single thing and just remember to have fun.

Emily: Thanks Lib, that’s really good so if you have any questions about Kokoda, long running trails, hikes, feel free to leave a comment underneath and look if it all goes pear shape tomorrow the practice opens at 7.30 on Monday so we’re here for you.  Thanks guys, bye.
